At the IAF-sponsored 'Earth Observation: Solutions for Decision-Making' seminar, held at the 2008 Berlin Air Show (ILA), Prof. Hartmut Grassl, former director of the "Physics of the Atmosphere" division at the Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg and professor emeritus of meteorology at the University of Hamburg spoke of the role in Earth Observation in weather forecasting and climate projections.
