ORIGINAL NOTE
The second video offered as proof of the skills of the original creator is not right, the second one does look like CGI. Also, if one looks at the first frames of the second one offering poof of being a fake, is different and not a consistent grey color, but has a shape, if one downloads and edits with a video editor they will see this.
I am amazed at how quick people are to assume this is a fake or hoax, it is almost like people were waiting for someone to give them permission by stepping forward and saying that they did it and it was a hope.
Also many people are saying, that there is no crickets out there, but there are peepers and there are many videos where the sound of the peepers is pretty close if not the same, and there could be a bounce from a wall that would change the sounds of this camera.
No once will ever know, but it is a really good test to show people about how hard it is to get them to believe and how easy it is to get them to disbelieve.
However, there is no proof that this person has done the original, it is very high quality if so, and I think they should have uploaded a video cam of their desktop and them doing it and the steps involved, that would be more convincing.
